With backgrounds in nursing and health visiting respectively, Julie and Catherine set up the first Baby Café breastfeeding drop-in in Haywards Heath, West Sussex in 2000 with a year's funding from the UK Department of Health and piloted its development into a national charity supporting Baby Café drop-ins across the UK and worldwide.

As National Coordinators, Catherine and Julie share the job of implementing policies agreed by the trustees, monitoring standards and supporting Baby Café facilitators to ensure every mum who visits a Baby Café drop-in receives the same high quality care and support.

Operations Manager

Samantha Payne BA (Hons) DiPM

Samantha is the Operations Manager for Baby Café. She has been working for the Baby Café for four years and liaises directly with facilitators across the country. When you contact us by email, post or through our website Samantha will ensure your request, question or licence application is responded to in a timely manner.

Website Manager

Sue Upstone BEd (Hons)

Sue is our website manager and responsible for setting up and maintaining the main website and webpages for individual Baby Cafés. Sue works as a primary school teacher, is an accredited LLL Leader and worked as a volunteer in a Baby Café drop-in for several years.
