Sidcup Baby Café launch

We had our launch on Tuesday 12th May, 2009 which was attended by six mothers and babies, our service Director, local counsellors, midwives, health visitors and community members. It was a very successful day which was covered by the local press. Read more here.

In our first three months over 50 different mums have visited us, the majority of whom have returned for further visits.

Here's what some of them told us:

"Great to meet other mums, swap tips and fantastic advice given by staff. Invaluable!"

"Baby Café has helped me very much. It has given me help for weaning my daughter and with her feeds. It has also aided me when I am down and supported me. Having so many questions its nice to know you can come here for someone to listen."

"It was really helpful to have health visitors and other breastfeeding consultants to talk to in one place. It’s a nice relaxed atmosphere and there are other mothers you can talk to."

"It was nice to chat with other mothers about our babies and good to know that health advisors, etc are there on hand to give advice and support."

"The café has been a really good source of information from when my baby was very young to six months plus and has definitely helped me to continue to breastfeed for longer by providing support and advice."
