The Baby Cafe

Our name and trade mark is "The Baby Café". All genuine Baby Café drop-in centres which are registered with us are listed on this website, and you can expect all these to be run to the same high standards. Any other drop-ins purporting to be Baby Café drop-ins are using the name without our authorisation.

In 2006 the Charitable Trust reviewed the licensing procedure. All existing Baby Café drop-ins will be incorporated into the new structure on renewal from January 2007. If you wish to set up a drop-in centre in your area using the Baby Caféname this is how to go about it:

1.	Find out more	Read the Frequently Asked Questions to find out more about running a Baby Café and the Charitable Trust. You may also find it useful to visit a Baby Café drop-in and read our annual reports.
2.	Purchase the Baby CaféApplication Pack.	This contains information about drop-in centres, a DVD illustrating the Baby Café concept and an application form for registration.
3.	Further reading	Before applying you must be familiar and in agreement with our charitable objects and policies and guidelines.
4.	Funding	Secure funding and venue.
5.	Apply	Complete the licence agreement and pay the application fee.
6.	Begin setting up	Once we have processed your application we will confirm that it has been approved. You will be sent a certificate and a copy of The Baby Café Handbook: all you need to know about setting up a Baby Café drop-in. This will give you the information you need to go ahead and set up your Baby Café drop-in.
7.	Access resources	We will send you the Baby Caféartwork and set up your page on the website. We will also send you the password to enable you to access resources via the website. You will also receive ongoing support and updates from the Charitable Trust.
8.	Publicity	Next you should organise publicity and order posters and fliers from your local printer. Sample resources can be viewed in the resources area of the website.
9.	Launch	Launch your Baby Café drop-in and send us any further information for your website page.
10.	Feedback	Baby Café facilitators are under agreement to provide the Charitable Trust with detailed statistics and feedback annually which are required in order to complete the charity's annual report. You should begin collecting this information as soon as your Baby Café is open. Further information and a data collection tool is available on the website resources page.

Licence Application and Renewal Costs

	Application Pack Introductory price £15.00 including p&p (This includes a DVD, Brochure and Application Form to apply for registration. You are invited to use these resources when applying for funding.)
	DVD only - £6.00 including p&p (This does not include the Application Form)
	Initial Application Fee - £165.00 (Includes initial processing costs, artwork files, Baby Café Facilitator's Handbook, Newsletters/Updates, support by email/telephone and web page set up/maintenance)
	Annual Renewal - £75.00 (Includes continuing support, Newsletters/Updates and web page maintenance)

Charitable Objects

The objects of the charity are:

To promote the physical and psychological health of mothers and children through education in the techniques of, and the provision of training regarding breastfeeding.

To advance the education of the public and especially those persons concerned with the care of the children on the health benefits both immediate and long term of breastfeeding.

The advancement of education among voluntary staff working in this area by the provision of relevant training.
